Burley was facing a tough task on Wednesday, hosting conference leader Upper Valley in a double-header.
The Bobcats got out to a good start, scoring the first run of the game off of a seeing-eye single by Alfonso Sanchez that scored Nick Stowers. But the Bulldogs responded quickly, scoring two runs in the top of the second. Upper Valley went on to get the game one win, 10-2.
Burley was able to earn the split in game two, beating the Bulldogs 11-1 in six innings.
