The Twin Falls Cowboys took an early 3-0 lead after the first two innings of Thursday night's doubleheader with the Idaho Falls Reds at Skip Walker Field, but it would take all seven innings to secure the 8-7 win.
The 'Pokes held the lead until the fourth inning, when the Reds strung together a number of well-placed hits to earn a 3-3 tie. They would put up one more run in the fifth to take a 4-3 lead, a lead they would not relinquish until the seventh inning.
The Reds put up three more runs through the remaining few innings to earn a 7-5 lead going into the Cowboys final at-bat. And that's when the 'Pokes pulled through.
A string of walks and singles would work into a strong final outing for the 'Pokes as they scored three runs in the seventh to earn the 8-7 victory, including a base-on-balls for the winning go-ahead run.
In the nightcap, the Cowboys handled the Reds efficiently, earning an 11-1 run-rule victory in six innings. Michael Williams pitched the no-hitter for the Cowboys.
The 'Boys are back in action tomorrow night at the Skip hosting the Pocatello Runnin' Rebels in a doubleheader starting at 6 PM.
