Defending Champ In Second After Day One of Idaho Open

The 2008 Idaho Open teed off this morning at Twin Falls Municipal Golf Course, hosting 64 of the region's top amateurs and professionals, including defending champion Scott Massingill of Payette and Twin Falls Golf Pro Mike Hamblin.

The leader after the first round is Darren Fletcher of Cave Creek, AZ, who sits alone at the top with a day one 62. Defending champ Massingill sits tied for second at 63. The top area golfer after the first round is Conner Lee, a Twin Falls Bruin, with a fifth-place 64.

Carl Sklavos, Twin Falls, carded an ace on the par three tenth and landed tied for 21st at 65. Travis Hofland, also of Twin Falls, shot a day one 65 as well. Tolliver Latham sits tied for 13th at 66, along with Steven Meyerhoeffer and six others. Michael Hamblin, Jordan Hamblin, Willie Mathers and Matthew Stottern all finished the day at 68, tied for 28th with four others.
