Cowboys Heating Up At Host Classic

By Jeremy Wayne

7-2-2009

The Twin Falls Cowboys moved to 2-0 in the Cowboy Classic Wood Bat Invitational tonight, beating the Walla Walla Bears in the seventh inning 3-2.

The Cowboys allowed two runs in the first inning, before shutting the Bears out for the remianing six. Zeb Sneed kept himself and the Cowboys from falling into a deeper hole with clutch strikeouts, and let his defense back him up with easy groundouts and fly outs to keep the Bears from extending their lead.

Remington Pullin was clutch, with two sacrifice RBI, one in the first and one in the sixth, to tie the game into the seventh. It would be Cowboy small ball that would win the game. With two outs, Jared Jordan doubled off the wall to start it off. TJ Ellis would follow that with a single to plate Jordan under the gun. A close call at the plate would go to the Cowboys for a 3-2 win.

The Cowboys host Lethbridge (Alberta, CA) tomorrow night at 6 pm at Bill Ingram Field.
