CSI men, women roll in home opener

The College of Southern Idaho men's and women's basketball teams continued a great start to the 2009 season with a pair of wins on Thursday night.
The Golden Eagle men came out swinging in their home opener against Westchester Community College to start the Gordon Paving/Mountain West Components Invitational. CSI carried a ten point lead into halftime, and then poured it on the second half to take the 103-75 win. Five Golden Eagles scored in double digits, led by Kenny Buckner with 19 points. Freshman Pierre Jackson also dished out nine assists. The Golden Eagles resume play on Friday night when they face Southeast Select.
The CSI women's team left no doubt in their Coca-Cola Invitational opener, beating Mesa Community College handily, 71-49. The Golden Eagles were led in scoring by Daidra Brown with 16 points. CSI will face Midland Community College on Friday night.
