Filer, Buhl Advance In SCIC Boys' District Tournament

The top-seeded Filer WIldcats jumped out to a big lead in the first half of their district tournament opener against fifth-seed Gooding. The 'Cats added to it early in the second half, as they pulled away to a 32-point victory over the Senators.

In the other 3A SCIC opener in Buhl, the #3 hometown Indians had to battle back from a first half deficit, then earned a tough 48-46 overtime victory to advance past the #4 Wendell Trojans. The Indians will now face #2 Kimberly in the second round on Tuesday night, while the Trojans will battle for their district playoff lives tomorrow night at home against the Gooding Senators. The loser is done, while the winner will play the loser of the Buhl-Kimberly matchup. Filer will play the winner of the Buhl-Kimberly game in the first semifinal on Wednesday night at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.
