Tigers stay alive in 4A, Trojans stun Bulldogs in 3A

The Jerome Tigers took an early lead, and never relinquished it in beating the Burley Bobcats in elimination play at Jerome High School on Monday night to stay alive in district tournament play. Gus Callen led the Tigers with 16 points. Jerome will travel to Minico on Tuesday night to play the Spartans at 7 p.m. for a shot at the Great Basin Championship game on Thursday night against Twin Falls at Baun Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
Since losing their opener in Buhl to the Indians, the Wendell Trojans have won three straight elimination games (Gooding, Buhl, Kimberly) in the 3A SCIC district tournament, and will play Filer on Wednesday in the SCIC Championship game at the College of Southern Idaho at 7 p.m.
The 1A Division II semifinal and elimination game scores were not reported to KMVT Sports on Monday night.
