In the 3A SCIC title game, the Wendell Trojans proved they are no pushover coming into the state tournament. The Trojans stayed in Wednesday night's game, and narrowly missed a game-tying buzzer beater, but came up just short to a very dominant and offensive Filer Wildcats squad, 51-48.
The 'Cats snapped a three game win streak for the Trojans, who rebounded from a district tournament opening loss to Buhl, to earn a shot at tonight's district championship. The Wildcats earned the district title with convincing regular and postseason play. They beat Gooding at home handily, before dispatching Kimberly in the first semifinal to play in tonight's game. The Wildcats advance to the state tournament. The Trojans will have to win a play-in game on Saturday over in Pocatello to get in.
