Magic Valley wrestlers bring home the hardware

The stage was set on Saturday for wrestlers from all across the Magic Valley to bring home state championship trophies. When all was said and done, seven wrestlers did just that.
In the 4A, three Twin Falls wrestlers won championship matches. In the 125-pound class, Joe Hamilton pinned Kessler Thueson of Nampa to win it all. Will Keeter repeated as state champion in the 140-pound class, pinning Kyle Luks of Kuna. In the 171-pound division, top-seeded Zak Slotten won it all, beating Dakota Bitton of Blackfoot in a 11-3 decision.
Buhl's Michael McDonald brought home the lone 3A state championship, edging out Ben Watt of Bonners Ferry in a 6-5 decision.
In the 2A-1A division, Declo's Stirland Zollinger beat Aldon Bishop 7-4 to win the 103-pound weight class. Derrek Garrett out-scored Taylor Martindale of North Fremont 10-4 to win the 135-pound title. Finally, Oakley's Stephan Ortiz beat Kyle King 12-4 to win the 145-pound weight class.
