Canyon Ridge Legion Looking To Improve In 2014

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV) The Canyon Ridge Blackhawks hope to take their lessons learned at state and translate them into success this year.

The players say while they peaked at district in 2013, they had a downfall at state in legion baseball.

With a number of young kids coming up through program, the seniors plan to provide some guidance in the effort to go deep in postseason play.

"I'm looking to get back, get back healthy ready to go for fall ball at the College of Idaho and have fun with my friends this last year at Canyon Ridge and as a team we want to make it to districts and go to state and place," says Gaige Kepner, a College of Idaho signee.

Centerfielder Braden Griffith adds, "my goal is to be a better leader, looking to help them out to get better for next year and years coming because years past hasn't been good for Canyon Ridge, but with Coach Slotten, he's the best coach I've ever had."

Canyon Ridge plays Mountain Home on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
