The University of Idaho football team is taking a big step up the competition ladder on Saturday when they visit 6th ranked Nebraska. But a victory isn't the only thing the Vandals hope to walk away with on Saturday.
If the U of I wins then the school's president, Duane Nellis and the Idaho players, will receive some corn-fed Nebraska beef tenderloin along with some Nebraska corn. If the Cornhuskers win then Nellis will have to send some Idaho Snake River Farms kobe beef tenderloin along with some Idaho potatoes to Nebraska president Harvey Perlman.
One payday the Vandals don't have to worry about is their $800,000 check they are going to receive from Nebraska just for showing up. The 'Huskers will write that nice check for the UI Athletic Department following the completion of the game. It is the largest athletic payout the school has ever received.
