Twin Falls, ID ( KMVT - TV / KTWT - TV ) Pierre Jackson’s NBA dream has taken a bit of a detour.
The former CSI basketball star was drafted in the second round of this year's draft and traded to the New Orleans Pelicans has decided to bypass the NBA for now and play in France for Tony Parker's team, Asvel Villeurbanne.
The former Baylor bear broke the news on his Twitter account Friday night.
He also explained the reason for his decision on his Instagram page saying:
“Wasn't really a hard decision, I just chose what was best for my growth as a player and FINANCIALLY for me and my family. Extremely happy and blessed for the opportunity and excited for what my future holds. Thank you to everyone for the support.”
Jackson leaves for France Sunday.
