Who Will Be The Starting QB For Boise State?

Boise, Idaho (KBOI) If we're only using Saturday's Boise State scrimmage to decide... The Broncos have their starting quarterback.

Joe Southwick outplayed his peers, finding holes in the defense. He threw 16 completed passes in 24 attempts, with a touchdown.

Southwick struggled a bit in the minute–15 drill and threw his only interception of the day in a late redzone drill, but his statistics came entirely with and against other presumed starters.

Grant Hendrick was the only other quarterback to play with that group, and he threw back to back interceptions when he did.

So... Coach Pete... Do we have a quarterback yet?

"Joe earned some good reps. I've said this before when we've got a starting quarterback, we'll tell you guys," adds Coach Petersen.

"he looks really good, all the guys do. I mean i think we really like his leadership. He knows the system. I mean he's been here for awhile. You know who ever they throw back there, we're definitely confident in that guy," adds D.J. Harper, Sr. Running Back.

It's safe to say that the defense was very familiar with what the offense was going to do on Saturday. Coach Petersen certainly doesn't open much of the playbook in a public scrimmage..

Bronco practices are now entirely closed to the media... So Bronco nation could still be in for a surprise under center August 31st.
