It is the first day of the season for the wood waste recycling facility.
From March through the end of October, Twin Falls residents will have an opportunity to drop off excess wood waste for free.
It helps owners keep their properties clean, while also saving time from chopping up the wood themselves.
Dave Billman says, "It gives me an opportunity to get rid of the wood waste and it doesn't go into the landfill and they chip it and the chips are available for the people to come and get."
Domingo Villanueva says, "I enjoy it here because it's a good place to save money, bring your branches, you don't have to pay for them. It’s recycling so everybody benefits."
Richard Machamer is a long-time Twin Falls citizen.
He was thrilled when the city opened the wood waste facility because he loves how everyone benefits from the program.
Machamer says, "I think it's a wonderful facility that the Twin Falls does for the citizens, bring out your limbs and things of that nature, where they can cut it up, and compost it, and makes it a little easier for the city."
During days that the facility is open - there is always an attendant on duty.
He or she checks to see if you pay a sanitation bill here in twin falls and also evaluates what is included in your load.
Sherry Jeff says, "We have a set schedule and we need to have a set schedule because we need an attendant on duty to keep anything unacceptable out and we need to make sure that waste doesn't get in there that would hurt the chipper."
To find out more information on the days they are open and what is accepted in the load visit www.tfid.org or pick-up a schedule at the city hall or at the site.
