It’s all about community at the forty-eight straight event in Ketchum.
The public event draws a great deal of attention across the country as it features some of the best athletes on the mountain.
Cup champion Tomas Craus is one of more notable figures along with Magdalena Jonsson who both compete in the skicross events and won their respective finals today.
Ketchum also saw a group of local athletes including skicross participant Langley Mcneal.
She is thrilled to be here because after all she grew up learning on dollar mountain.
Mcneal says, "it's great to look out and see so many familiar faces I mean my mom teaches fifth grade and brought her whole class out yesterday. They brought their little Langley signs. Just really pumps you up."
Mcneal is a rookie and her accomplishments include participating in the x games and at the world cup in Europe.
She loves being surrounded by some of the best skiers around.
Mcneal says, "Everyone is really nice here. You would think skier cross would be more competitive than racing, but the camaraderie is just amazing. Everyone helps each other at the finish. Once you leave that gate, no friends on the course but at the bottom everyone is pretty cool."
Langley says that now as the season is over she plans to enjoy some time off.
Mcneal says, "I'm ready to go to the beach, get out of the snow!"
