Twin Falls City Council to select mayor

Twin Falls City Council will be selecting a new mayor Monday night as the two-year term for Shawn Barigar is up. Ppresident and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, Shawn Barigar says Twin Falls is one of the few cities in Idaho that runs as a council manager form of government, meaning the city has a city manager that runs the day-to-day operations rather than the mayor. If a mayor is elected by the public, they would then be responsible for the day to day operations.

Family who lost house in fire still healing

Two families lost their house after a fire caused extensive damage in October 2017. One family moved to Jerome after not being able to find a house for three weeks.

A family of a 13-year-old girl files lawsuit against Shoshone School District

The Shoshone School District is now being sued in a civil lawsuit at the U.S District court. The case comes from a family of 13-year-old girl who was reportedly raped by a 17-year-old male student at Shoshone Middle School in April of 2017.

Snow makes for high avalanche danger

A forecaster for the center said the mountains received 12 to 16 inches of new snow Thursday night into Friday morning. “Which is great for skiers but bad for avalanche stability,” said Ethan Davis, an avalanche forecaster with the center.
