It's feeling a bit like winter out there. Temperatures this evening have already dropped into the upper 20's and lower 30's and they will only continue to drop. Lows tonight will fall into the teens in the Magic Valley and the single digits across the Wood River Valley and across the South Hills.
Most of the snow is staying to our East tonight, but a heavy band of snow is creating problems near Idaho Falls and Pocatello. Some areas have received 2 inches of snow in less than an hour and numerous accidents are being reported across the Eastern parts of the state.
ALso if you plan on driving South this weekend - lots of weather problems are impacting the Salt Lake City area. A lingering weather system and strong winds off of the Great Salt Lake are producing heavy rounds of lake effect snow. Winter Storm Warnings, Lake Effect Snow Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the Salt Lake City area.
Here's a picture I received from my friend Dan who just flew into the Salt Lake City Airport Saturday Afternoon.
Here locally we are continuing to expect a couple of cold days of weather. Veteran's day on Sunday will be sunny but temperatures will only climb into the middle 30's in the Magic Valley and 20's in the Mountains. A weak weather system could bring snow back to the forecast on Monday and Tuesday.
Have a great rest of your weekend - Brandon
