Fire Danger Remains High Through The Weekend

By Brandon Redmond

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) With much of Southern Idaho in a severe drought, gusty winds and low humidity will keep firefighters on guard through the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for parts of Southern Twin Falls, much of Cassia County and parts of Elmore, Camas and Blaine Counties through this evening. Fire Weather Watches have already been issued for Sunday.

Winds could gust as high as 30 mph in those areas and that will hamper efforts to control the ongoing wildfires in Camas and Elmore Counties.

We have crews covering those fires today and we will bring you the latest information tonight on Idaho's First News at 9 and 10.
