It's been a wet day across the area with the Twin Falls picking up .25" of rain as of 2:30 PM. Burley has gotten .31 and Rupert has received just over 4 tenths of an inch of rain! Another round of moisture will push into Southern Idaho this evening and we're expecting yet another round of rain by this evening. One of our forecast models is showing another widespread batch of precipitation pushing across the area between 5 and 8 p.m. this evening.

Snow willc ontinue to mix with the rain across the higher elevations. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for the Wood River Valley. Snow levels through this evening will remain at or near 7,500 feet but as we head into the overnight hours, snow levels will begin dropping to 6,000 feet and possibly as low as 4,000 feet by Tuesday Morning.

Snowfall accumulations in the Wood River Valley will range from 3-5".

A few light rain and snow showers will be possible in the Valleys Tuesday morning but most of the precipitation should begin to end across the area Tuesday as the weather system lifts to our East. A few light rain or snow showers will remain possible on Tuesday but at this point, I'm not expecting any widespread precipitation.

Another weather system will work it's way into the Southern Idaho/Magic Valley areas on Wednesday Night and Thursday Morning. With colder air in place, the valleys will stand a much better chance at receiving some snow.

Here's what one of our forecast models is showing for the morning commute on Thursday. Any precipitation that is falling should be falling in the form of snow across most of the viewing area with temperatures in the 20's and lower 30's.

Some light snowfall accumulations could occur but this is something that we'll watch very closely over the next several days.

Have a great rest of your day!
