Nice Weather For The Start Of The Work Week

By Brandon Redmond

Talk about dreary weather conditions this morning! I woke up to light rain, lots of clouds and even fog. The good news is that I'm looking out my window here at KMVT and it looks like just a little bit of sunshine is trying to peak through the clouds!

Speaking of fog! Talk about socked in with dense fog this morning in Jerome. At one point visibility was down to near zero!

Visibility is improving across the area but there could still be some lingering fog in parts of Jerome and Gooding Counties.

High temperatures today will be cooler, only climbing into the middle to upper 40's due to the fog. The rain should continue to shift off to our East. As of Noon most of the rain was already off towards the Pocatello area but Burley was still reporting light rain and sprinkles.

A high pressure will dominate the weather as we start the work week. That is good news! Warmer temperatures and sunshine will dominate the forecast for at least Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Clouds will start to thicken back up as we head into Thursday and Friday ahead of another weather system.

In fact our latest forecast guidance is showing a pretty strong storm system impacting Southern Idaho next weekend! Two of our long range forecast models are cranking out over three quarters of an inch of rain across the Magic Valley next Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Yep, it looks like we will see another wet and dreary weekend. The trend continues!

I'll have complete details on the forecast tonight on FOX 14 News at 9 and KMVT News at 10! Thanks for reading - Brandon
