"Are we going to get snow? When will it snow? Will it snow this weekend? Why aren't you forecasting snow?" These are all questions I have been recieving over the last couple of weeks from many of you. There is still some uncertainty but we could possibly see snow by the weekend. Some of it could actually accumulate here in the valleys Saturday into Sunday.
A trough will begin to develop in the western part of the United States. This means the jet stream that steers most of our weather patterns and warm and cold air will dip south across the western US. This will allow for cold more seasonal air to settle in across the region. We will also see a more northwesterly flow of air and there will be a few disturbances that move in across southern Idaho that could produce snow. We are still several days out and from my experience a lot can change between now and this weekend. As the forecast stands RIGHT NOW we could see as little as a coating to possibly 4 inches here in Twin Falls. The above graphic is the snowfall accumulation through Sunday night. In the south hills snow amounts potentially could be as high as a foot. Stay tuned we will keep you updated.
