Valentine's Day is only a couple days away. (Note to self: buy wife something ASAP. Sleeping in dog house not fun during winter)
Since many people will be out and about trying to impress their significant other I figured I'd do blog post so plans can be made accordingly.
A weak system will be dropping through our area heading into tomorrow and we may see a little snow on the ground for Valentine's Day. This will mostly be a Wednesday event with the possibility of snow starting in the afternoon. Here is what our Futurecaster model is showing for 2 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
By Thursday at midnight the threat of snow is pretty well to our east.
It looks like most of snow will be in the higher terrain to the north and south and the valley locations will see little to no accumulation at all. I think a coating at most in the valleys with accumulation of one to MAYBE 2 inches in the South Hills, Albion Mountains and Wood River Region. The spot that will see the most snow will be the Howell Canyon area. Tomorrow will be a bit on the breezy side with 10-20 mph winds.
For Valentine's Day itself skies should be sunny and highs will reach the mid 40s in some spots. So there shouldn't be any weather related issues to keep you from making your dinner reservations. (Note to self: make dinner reservations)
