This year take a trip around the world and back through time with KMVT’s weather team Brian Neudorff, Nick Kosir, and Michelle Costa as we launch a new weather series, Student Weather Station. In a journey through weather myths and legends, we will explore how cultures throughout the world have attempted to explain and deal with the wrath of nature. These are the tales of dragons, thunderbirds, and ancient gods who hurled lightning bolts to the earth.
Student Weather Station will also feature classroom photographs and weather questions emailed to the KMVT weather team by local students and teachers. Classroom photographs and weather questions will be included in our morning and evening weather broadcasts. Participating teachers are provided with free support materials and educational handouts with games, reading lists, and weather safety information for their classrooms.
From the fantastic world of legends and mythology to the latest in weather technology, KMVT, The Weather Authority, brings to television the science we use today to forecast severe weather. Weather information viewers can use to stay safe in the storm.
We invite 3rd through 8th grade teachers and students throughout Southern Idaho to join the adventure and be a part of Student Weather Station. If you are a teacher and want your classroom to participate and receive free educational materials, please sign up today.
