At around 3:30 pm, July 22, 2008, a severe storm slammed into Kimberly, Idaho. The storm lasted around 10 minutes dropping extreme amounts of rain in a hurricane-like fashion. A storm drain on the corners of Emerald and Gem Drives could not handle to massive amounts of moisture that fell, causing it to back up and flood the street nearly flooding some homes. In the aftermath of the storm a few branches broke from some trees but no major trees were uprooted due to the wind.
