Twin Falls, Idaho August 10, 2009 -- Concrete Desert Skateboards has signed an open ended sponsorship contract with Jerome skateboarder Jake Rambo. "His enthusiasm, passion for the sport, and positive attitude are contagious and have earned him the responsibility of representing our brand." stated Concrete Desert Skateboards founder Jason Bobango.

In return for undisclosed terms, Rambo will represent Concrete Desert Skateboards at local contests, special events, and in the public at large. As part of his contract, Rambo has also agreed to maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and abstain from illicit drugs, alcohol, and tobacco use. GPA requirements and a drug abstinence contract are a requirement for all athletes who wish to be sponsored by Concrete Desert Skateboards. Jake's Father, Keven stated he is "excited that Jake is part of something that has such high standards."

“Concrete Desert Skateboardsʼ mission is to provide the equipment and facilities needed for Idaho skateboarders to practice their skills and become better athletes,” said Bobango, a local social worker.

Bobango said he feels that when many people think of skateboarding they think of drugs and rebellion, rather than an actual sport that requires skill, coordination, and discipline.

“Skateboarding requires the athletes to set goals and accomplish them. These are all valuable life lessons all kids should learn,” Bobango said. “It is time for parents and businesses to support skateboarding in the same way they support baseball, basketball and football.”

In an industry that Bobango feels holds the main purpose of “taking your kid’s money,” he wanted to start a new kind of company that would give back to its local community and foster the growth of the positive aspects of the sport. "That's why we donate 25% of our profits back to the community and have such high standards for the athletes we sponsor." stated Bobango.

“These kids need places to practice these life skills and develop their athletic abilities,” he said.
