TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - Twin Falls fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a Tuesday afternoon fire that severely damaged an old abandoned church.

The Twin Falls Fire Department found no one inside the building located near the 1500 block of Third Avenue East, between Locust and Maurice Streets, and some neighbors in area said the church has been abandoned since they can remember. Many didn’t even know the church’s original name.

A neighbor told KMVT as soon as she saw the flames she called 911, and another neighbor told KMVT the flames from the fire were as high the trees and smoke could be seen all the way down the block.
