Southern Idaho football players earn invite to Dream All-American Bowl
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Two local football players as well as a former coach have been invited to the Dream All-American Bowl.
Burley’s McCray Mort and Declo’s McKade Vail are getting ready for this big-time opportunity in Gulf Shores, Alabama from the 16th through the 18th.
Helping coach the defensive linemen for Team Dream, is former Burley head coach Tony Cade, who’s been following these boys careers’ for several years now.
The two head coaches are former NFL player Joe Horn and former college coach, Mark Hudspeth. Special guest coach is former NFL placekicker, Matt Bryant.
Through Cade’s connections and the athletes’ talents, the trio will represent Idaho among some of the nation’s best high school seniors.
They’ll have the opportunity to participate in combine testing, and get their face and name out there, in front of college coaches tuning in virtually.
The event is culminated by the bowl game commencing on Monday, January 18 at 11 am.
“They saw our film and we sent it to them and they said we were capable of going up there,” Mort explained.
Vail added, “we’re very thankful for Coach Cade in helping us get this opportunity.”
“I know it will be an eye-opening experience for these young men and I know it will be for me because I just love watching great players play football and there’s going to be some talent out there and they will see where they stack up and some kids say ‘hey this is for me, others say it’s not for them’,” Cade explained. “But anyone will benefit having these two in their locker room.”
Vail has been offered by Pacific University, while Mort doesn’t have any offers at the moment.
The Declo senior will be on Team Dream, while the Burley senior is representing Team Stars.
Recruit Nation Live TV will stream the practices and game.
