TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Stage Two of the Stay Healthy order is well underway in Idaho.

With sports fully starting back up again after the holiday break, we do have some updates to discuss.

Student athletes, whether it be basketball, cheerleading or wrestling, may have up to two spectators for both home and away teams.

And freshmen and JV teams may remain in the gym behind the team playing.

Meanwhile, all non-participating athletes, essential personnel, administrators, and table help are required to properly wear masks. For fans, masks are recommended and required for those not seated or able to physically distance.

However, if the school district requires masks, you are required to wear one.

Now school districts don’t have to admit the extra spectators as set forth in these new guidelines and can continue with the 10 non-essential personnel.

But so far, most of our school districts in the area are on board.

They have until January 15 to submit the agreement to the State Board of Education.

After signing the agreement, school districts who are in violation can receive penalties, from a written warning up to forfeiture of events.
