TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Local baseball and softball teams continue to stay busy on the road this week in tournaments.

Twin Falls 10, Post Falls 1: The Bruins win in day 2 of the Spring Break tournament in Boise, ID. They are now 3-0 in the tourney. Freshman Emmett Demlow started on the mound for the Bruins earning the win going only one earned run. Freshman Wyatt Solosabal pitched the remaining two innings not allowing a run. Offensively: Tyler Horner 2-2, 2-2B. Jace Mahlke 2-4 2B 2 RBI. Wyatt Solosabal 1-2 3B 2 RBI. The Bruins will finish up the tournament on Saturday at 12:30 against Bishop Kelly HS. Overall 7-4 GBC 2-0.

Canyon Ridge 7, Columbia 1: The Riverhawks pounded nine hits in the win. Ian Hughes went four innings, striking out nine. CJ Bartholomew and Cole Rosas both had two hits.

Timberline 10, Minico 5: Cannon Schow struck out six in six innings.

Post Falls 5, Burley 1: Bronson Brookings had three strikeouts in the loss. The Bobcats committed five errors, compared to none for PF.

Skyview 10, Burley 0: The Bobcats couldn’t muster up any hits in the loss. Jace Robinson went three innings, striking out two.

Filer 9, Parma 3: Dominic Robles went five innings, striking out six. Logan Lockwood added two hits for the Wildcats.


Homedale 10, Twin Falls 5: Homedale took advantage of 7 miscues by the Bruins, as well as outhit the Bruins 10-5. Sydney McMurdie got the loss, recording 2 strikeouts, 4 hits and 2 walks. Kindal Holcomb also pitched, giving up 6 hits, 1 walk and had 4 strikeouts. Reagan Rex (2) and Sydney Jund (3) were the only two Bruins that recorded hits. 6-3 overall 2-0 conference.

Twin Falls 9, Middleton 7: The Lady Bruins began the WTP tourney, by knocking off the 4A powerhouse Middleton Vikings. Hannah Holcomb got the win, striking out 9, giving up 6 hits and walking 3. Sydney McMurdie came in relief, giving up 2 hits and a strikeout. Offensively, several Bruins had extra bases with Reagan Rex and Brinley Iverson each getting a double, while Casie Mckechnie slugged a 2-run homerun in the first to get the scoring started for the Bruins. McKechnie had 3 RBI in the game and her teammates Kirsten Cummins, Rex, Iverson, Sydney Jund all had an RBI apiece. 6-2 overall 2-0 conference.

Canyon Ridge 16, Nampa 8: The Riverhawks had 18 hits in the five-inning affair. Bailey Sligar had four hits and three RBI’s. Jaycee Massie added three hits and four RBI’s. Sligar pitched four innings, striking out three.

Filer 11, Lakeland 3: Sami Taylor went five innings, striking out seven. Nikaela Higley had two hits and four RBI’s. McCarty Stoddard also added two RBI’s.

Filer 6, Meridian 5: The Wildcats pounded out 11 hits in the win. McCarty Stoddard struck out two in six innings of work. She also had three hits at the plate. Reegan Carter added three RBI’s.

Ridgevue 17, Gooding 4: The Senators fell behind 11-0 in the first inning and never could come back in the five-inning rout. Alx Roe led the Senators with three RBI’s.

Gooding 11, Sugar-Salem 8: Morgan Durham pitched five innings, striking out just as many. Jamie Carter had two hits and just as many RBI’s. Wesley Church added two hits.
