BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — After losing to Homedale in a winner’s bracket final Saturday morning, Filer won three straight, including two against the Trojans in the championship game to claim the 3A state title at Timberline High School in Boise.

The Wildcats won the 3A state title in 2019, and since their was not a state tournament in 2020, Filer is the 3A back-to-back state champion.

A run in the top of the seventh inning in the winner-take-all championship game propelled Filer to a 5-4 win. Sami Taylor threw a complete game on the mound while adding two hits at the plate. Nikaela Higley had three hits for the Wildcats.
