TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A local recovery center and the College of Southern Idaho are teaming up to show local kids what Southern Idaho has to offer.

Embrace Life Recovery of Jerome and CSI are holding their Embrace the Challenge event for teens between thirteen and seventeen. The event aims to bring Idaho’s youth together with the CSI ropes course challenge.

JJ Shawver, the business development manager for Embrace Life Recovery, tells KMVT one of the goals of the event is to show teens fun activities and what Idaho has to offer. They hope this event can help kids make friends and keep kids on the right path and not get into drugs or alcohol.

“Nowadays it’s just hard telling what they’ve been around and there’s so much exposure to things that are not the best for kids or adolescence,” said Shawver. “So, really to bring awareness so hopefully they can start down the right path and not be drawn into that path of addiction.”

The event will be Saturday, June 26. at the CSI challenge course from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration forms are available at Embrace Life Recovery at 154 First Ave. West in Jerome. They do recommend registering before the event.
