Burley basketball player competing in All-American camp
Amari Whiting heads to Memphis for exposure event
BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A Burley High School basketball player continues to garner national attention.
Amari Whiting is leaving for Memphis, to attend the Inside Exposure Junior All-American camp this weekend.
The 5′10″ point guard plays for former WNBA and USA star Natalie Williams through the Adidas circuit.
But those around here might know her as the standout guard for Burley, who joined the school’s 1,000 point club early in her sophomore season.
For Whiting, it’s a chance for her to compete against the nation’s elite players.
“Just show that I can play ball and I might be from small town Burley, but we can do it! I just want to go out there, see how I line up with the girls, just play my butt off and hopefully get my name out there a little more,” Whiting exclaimed.
Whiting took an unofficial visit to the University of Utah over the weekend where she has a standing offer. She plans to also visit BYU and Oregon this summer.
