CSI volleyball wraps up long week with split in Saturday doubleheader
Golden Eagles fall to Central Wyoming, sweep Blue Mountain
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The CSI volleyball team had an up and down week, playing five matches in four days at home and winning three.
In part of the Starr Corporation Invitational, the Golden Eagles went 1-1 in a doubleheader Saturday.
In the first game, CSI lost in straight sets to Central Wyoming College 25-16, 25-17, 25-20.
In the afternoon against Blue Mountain Community College, the Golden Eagles took care of business with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-14 sweep.
Head Coach Jim Cartisser said it was nice to play at home for the entire week. He is proud of his team, now 8-6 overall, but he still thinks there is plenty to work on.
“We won the matches we should have, we definitely could have went 5-0, we’re just working through a lot of lineup changes, lot of things with just freshman mistakes, and even the sophomores are taking their turns at times,” Cartisser said.
CSI travels to Treasure Valley Community College Wednesday before opening up conference play with Salt Lake Community College on September 22nd.
