Fit and Well Idaho: International Rescue Competition
The competition will be held on the USS Iowa
LOS ANGELES, California (KMVT/KSVT) — Local paramedics are being selected to participate in an international rescue competition.
Magic Valley Paramedic’s Special Operations responds to situations where rescues by normal means aren’t possible.
On average, they respond to 15 to 20 rescues per year.
With the work they’ve done, they are now being recognized to participate in the competition, which features just 12 teams from around the world.
Members of the team are quite excited about the challenges of the competition.
“It’s pretty humbling, I’ve been a member of the team for several years and really heavily active over the last three or four years,” said Theron Thomas, a paramedic field training officer with the Magic Valley Paramedics. “And to be recognized and picked for this it’s pretty humbling.”
The competition will be held on the USS Iowa in Los Angeles, and will not only feature competition but numerous learning opportunities for the teams involved.
