Jerome School District looks for the public’s help in naming new school
The school will not be ready until the Fall of 2023
JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Jerome School District looking for the community’s help in naming their new elementary school.
After the City of Jerome passed a bond to build a new elementary school in May of 2021, the process began of getting everything in order.
The new school will be built off South Tiger Drive a little bit south of the high school.
The school will not be ready until the Fall of 2023, but, right now, they are looking for suggestions on what the school should be called.
“We would really like a name that would (show) the aspirations that we have for our kids, or what we would like them to become,” said Barbara Brown, the Assistant Principal for Horizon Elementary and Jefferson Elementary. “Because we all know that if you really give a kid a good education and provide everything that they need, then you can really change the trajectory of their life, so that’s what we are hoping for.”
This new school will be a K-6 school, and the current elementary schools will be moving to K-6 schools as well. To submit a name you would like to see for the new school, click here.
