TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — On Wednesday, an area organization that normally provides acts of kindness to the community received a gift themselves.

Community Quilts is a volunteer organization that donates handmade quilts, pillowcases and more to the community.

As part of their 100 Acts of Kindness, Con Paulos Chevrolet donated $500 to go along with batting to make quilts to the organization.

Last year, Community Quilts gave away around 700 quilts and 1,000 pillowcases.

“(The) material that we use in making our quilts are donated but batting we have to buy,” said Phyllis Bybee, the co-leader of Community Quilts. “And of course it goes up like everything else every year, so we’re very appreciative of the money he (Con Paulos) gave us.”

“The community is what supports our business, and it’s just an opportunity for us to give back, and we’ve done that for years and but we’re making it an organized effort this year to help us celebrate,” said Con Paulos with Con Paulos Chevrolet.

Community Quilts meets at KMVT twice a month, and Wednesday had about 25 people drop off completed items.
