UPDATE: Authorities identify pilot who died in Wednesday plane crash
HEYBURN, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — UPDATE AT 12:25 p.m. on 4/14: The Minidoka County Coroner has identified the pilot who died in Wednesday’s plane crash.
They say 30-year-old Chelsea Brittany Infanger of Salmon, Idaho died in the crash. A cause of death has yet to be determined.
One person is dead following a Wednesday morning plane crash in Heyburn.
Heyburn Police were among the first responders dispatched to the call of a plane crash at 8:36 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found a plane crashed onto the roof of potato processing plant Gem State Processing.
According to officials, the Cessna 208 caravan carrying UPS freight was en-route from Salt Lake City and was flying too low while attempting to land at Burley Municipal Airport.
The pilot, and sole occupant of the plane, died in the crash. None of the Gem State Processing employees were injured.
The crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration in conjunction with the National Transportation Safety Board.
