Behind the Business: Clarke Confections

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — We all have our own dreams and passions in life, and for Cierra Clarke, that was baking.

“I started when I was about probably 15 and everyone would always tell me that I should make this a business,” she said.

And when the pandemic lockdowns first began, Clarke made the most of of the situation.

“My son was almost a year old at the time and I also wanted to be able to do something where I could work from home,” said Clarke.

That dream quickly became a reality.

“I was able to get the license where I could do it out of my own home and still be qualified to do it from the health department, and be able to make it a business, and still be a mom to my kids,” she said.

The customizable nature of the baked goods is what makes Clarke Confections most unique.

“It’s always something that will go to either their party theme. Someone’s different hobbies that they love, something that is more personal to what they want just to make it a little more special,” Clarke said.

Clarke is thankful for all of the support she has seen from the Magic Valley in just the five months she’s been here.

“It feels like I’ve been here longer in a sense just because of how welcomed I’ve felt. I was worried when we moved here because we are from California that we would get some backlash because that’s what we’ve always heard but it’s definitely not in this area,” said Clarke.
