Kent, Phillip C.

RICHFIELD—Phillip Clair Kent, age 71, of Richfield, Idaho passed away March 31, 2023 in Gooding, Idaho. We are grateful each of his children and his sister were able to visit him in the hospital before he passed away.

Phillip was born on March 26, 1952 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Don and Ella Kent. He spent most of his childhood in Dayton, Idaho and graduated from West Side High School, which he was very proud of. After high school, he spent a year at Utah State University before serving a mission in California for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After serving a mission, he married Vickie Allyn Nelson in May of 1974. Most of Phil and Vickie’s married life was spent raising 11 children in Richfield, Idaho. Phil was a hard worker. His first career was working in a cheese factory in Richfield and his last career was landscaping in the Wood River Valley. Vickie passed away in May of 2003. He married Kathleen Davis in 2009.

Throughout his life, he served in numerous church and scout callings. He enjoyed coaching Tee-ball when his kids were younger, and enjoyed keeping tabs on his kids and grandkids in various sports and school activities.

Phil is survived by his wife, Kathleen Kent, his sister, Marva (Danny) Riddle of Sugar Salem, his children: Callan (Amber) Kent of Montpelier, Idaho; Matthew (Rebecca) Kent of Richfield, Idaho; Craig Kent of Logan, Utah; Mindy (Brian) Cheney of Shoshone, Idaho; Quinton (Courtney) Kent of Evanston, Wyoming; Joseph (Jennifer) Kent of Pasco, Washington; Vallyn (Berthier) Jean-Louis of Twin Falls, Idaho; Angela (Steven) Ritchie of Pasco, Washington; Levi (Kristen) Kent of Twin Falls, Idaho; Jordan (Holly) Kent of Ocala, Florida; and Gloria (Kade) Barker of Rexburg Idaho; and numerous other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vickie; his parents, Don and Ella; his brother, Steven Kent; and his sister, Klea Kent.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Richfield, Idaho. Bob Telford will be conducting.

There will be a viewing at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be in the Richfield Cemetery in Richfield, Idaho.
