Carothers, Nina

SHOSHONE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Nina Lee Carothers, 77, of Shoshone, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Lincoln County Care Center.

Nina was born on October 18, 1945 in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Alfred Elmer Heiken and Gail Elizabeth Page.

She was raised and educated in Dietrich.

Nina married Edward Boyd Carothers on August 29, 1966 in Shoshone.

She is survived by: her son – Troy Lynn (Shannon) Carothers of Shoshone; her ex-husband – Ed Carothers; two brothers – Don (Cindy) Heiken of Dietrich and Dale (Pat) Bymaster of Bayview, Idaho; two sisters – Willa (Larry) Richards of Carnation, Washington and Gladys (Dennis) Bymaster of Havre, Montana; two grandchildren – Andrew (Hailey) Dixon of Caldwell and Brandt (Noora) Borges of Tampere, Finland; and great grandchildren – Kaiden Dixon, Teagan Dixon, Iina Jauhiainen, Emma Jauhiainen and Enni Jauhiainen.

She was preceded in death by: her brother – Dennis Bymaster; sister – Lavon Walker; mother – Gail Heiken; and father – Alfred Heiken.

A memorial service will be held in the Dietrich Park on October 21, 2023 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm.  Everyone is welcome – friends, family and acquaintances.  Come have a bite to eat and share stories of Nina.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Golden Years Senior Center or Hope for the Hungry Community Food Pantry in Shoshone.

Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel.
