TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — As of Monday, a new sheriff is in town here in Twin Falls.

The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office announced the swearing-in of Jack Johnson as the new sheriff of Twin Falls County.

Johnson said that the county is in a good place due to past leadership but plans to improve drug interdiction.

“I’ve stated this before. I think we need to do a better job on drug interdiction,” Johnson said. “If you’re dealing drugs in our county or preying on our citizens, saddle your horse and ride out of here because we are going to come after you.”

Johnson also said he plans to focus on short-term and long-term strategic planning to help commissioners.

The sheriff’s office said Johnson will bring the county a wealth of experience and a remarkable vision.
