FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA/Gray News) - An Indiana man is facing felony charges after he allegedly sold kosher salt to an undercover officer while claiming it was methamphetamine.

Blake Brehmer, 31, is charged with dealing in a substance represented to be a controlled substance and money laundering, both felony charges. The charges carry a potential maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Brehmer is accused of meeting with an undercover officer Monday to sell him meth, but he instead gave the officer kosher salt, according to court records.

The officer gave the 31-year-old prerecorded money in exchange for the substance and was wearing a recording device during the transaction.

The substance field tested negative for meth, court documents say.

During an interview, Brehmer allegedly admitted to selling kosher salt in place of meth. He is set to appear in court on the charges for the first time Wednesday.
