TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Great Basin Conference player of the year and All-State first team selection Maddox Stadelmeir has signed his letter of intent to play baseball for the Midland Chaparrals in Midland, Texas.

Maddox put on a show in his senior year with the Bruins, slugging .869, which ranked seventh in the state of Idaho, while leading the state with 10 home runs. Maddox also ranked second with 44 RBI.

The Chaparrals finsihed the 2025-26 season with a program record 53 wins and a third place finish in the JUCO World Series.

Maddox spent all four years at Twin Falls High School where his father, Tim, is the head coach.

Maddox says his teammates and coaches deserve all the credit for where he is today.

“It’s meant the world to me, just the teammates I’ve met, all the experiences I’ve had. It all goes to them,” Maddox said. “None of this would be possible without any of my coaches, everything like that.”

From the time Maddox was a little kid playing baseball in the backyard, to coaching him throughout high school, to finally see his son sign his letter of intent to play at the collegiate level, Tim has been by his side.

Tim says it was bittersweet at the end of Maddox’s high school career, and he could not be more proud of his son.

“Watching him grow up as a father, he’s been following me around into the dugout since he was a little guy,” Tim said. “It was bittersweet at the end of his senior year but I was really proud of him and watching him progress.”

Tim says it was a Tuesday morning full of emotions when Maddox signed his letter of intent.

“Its a dream come true,” Tim said. “Its been a very emotional morning for me, with him signing.”

Despite being a two-way player for the Bruins, Maddox says that he will focus on being a position player for the Chaps, as he caught every inning for the Bruins during his senior season.
