Jack Schemmel joined KMVT as a Sports and News reporter in June of 2020.
Jack grew up in Sarasota, Florida. He attended the University of Maryland and graduated in May of 2020 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Economics.
Jack interned at SNN-TV in Sarasota, with the Sports Department at NBC4 WRC-TV in Washington D.C. and at ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption during his college years.
While at the University of Maryland, Jack worked with Capital News Service, the University’s broadcast bureau, where he had the opportunity to cover the Washington Nationals World Series run in 2019.
Jack is a sports junkie who can talk your head off about anything college football or basketball. He proudly supports his Maryland Terrapins. His parents are from the Midwest, so he is a massive Chicago Cubs fan.
Jack loves to be active, whether that be snowboarding, playing golf, hiking, or anything where he can be outside.
