Max was born and raised in Minnesota growing up in a small suburb of St. Paul where he would spend most of his summers either on the water of White Bear Lake or the St. Croix river. His fascination with weather began in his early teens when he combined his knowledge in cameras with weather to try and get shots of lightning on stormy days. Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes have been his passion ever since seeing his first tornado in May of 2011 and taking time every spring so he can drive up and down the country in search of twisters.
Max got his degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He then became the weekend meteorologist at KVRR in Fargo, and is looking forward to no longer dealing with the brutal North Dakota winters where the coldest temperature he experienced was -33°.
When not forecasting the weather he's cheering on the Minnesota Twins, watching Formula 1, or catching up on the latest films.
