Ryan Dennis is a Meteorologist at KMVT News.

Ryan Dennis joined KMVT News in October 2018 as the Rise & Shine morning show and noon meteorologist and he is excited to begin his career in the Magic Valley.

Ryan grew up in Maryland and has had a passion for weather ever since he was a kid. The one weather event that really sparked his interest in weather was a blizzard in 2003 that dropped several feet of snow, enough so that it was as tall as he was, and he wondered how it was possible to get so much snow from one storm. Ryan then got his first taste at forecasting during high school when he was the go-to guy for any and all snow events as everyone wanted to know how much snow they would be getting and of course whether school would be open or closed.

In May 2016, Ryan graduated summa cum laude from Salisbury University in Maryland with a B.S. in Geography with a concentration in Atmospheric Science and a B.S. in Earth Science. He also received a minor in athletic coaching. During his time at Salisbury, Ryan had two broadcast meteorology internships, one at WBAL-TV in Baltimore, MD and one at WMDT-TV in Salisbury, MD. These internships are what made him realize just how much he enjoys the broadcast business and being able to provide forecasts to viewers, just like you.

Before entering the broadcast business though, Ryan chose to gain more understanding about meteorology and attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, where he graduated with his M.S. in Atmospheric Science in August 2018.

In his free time, Ryan loves to hike and play sports as well as travel and explore new places. He is also an avid Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan as he makes sure he never misses a game.
