20 plus bicycles awarded to Magic Valley families

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Dozens of Magic Valley families were recipients of a bike giveaway on Saturday.

The first Rider's Roost Bike for Kids Christmas Giveaway event pedaled its way to Epic Elevation Sports, to inspire and promote cycling in the community.

More than 20 bikes were awarded to kids and local organizations provided free helmets, air pumps, and water bottles.

Paul Smith, President of Rider's Roost said they wanted to help out kids this holiday season that may not get the opportunity to have a bike.

"Even at young age, it gives you a sense of freedom a little bit to have a cycle and we realize that not everybody has the opportunity to have one, so we wanted to help out a little bit and see if we can provide some for kids who didn't have one," Smith said.

The organization reached out to United Way of South Central Idaho and then everything fell into place, Smith said.

Epic Elevation Sport and Spoken Wheel put all the bikes together.
