WASHINGTON (Gray DC) -- An Alabama choir is getting an experience of a lifetime.
Members from the Episcopal Church of the Nativity and Enterprise State Community College are in Washington, D.C. for a performance the National Cathedral.
Enterprise State Community College freshman Jasaan Roberts said, "To me the only word I have is that it's just insane that we get to come out here and literally be a part of something this big."
The choir's director, Dr. Ken Thomas, said, "I tell them all the time if you work hard great things will happen."
Leaders at Dothan's Episcopal Church of the Nativity applied to sing here at the National Cathedral.
After they were selected, they asked Enterprise State choir members to join.
The community then donated more than $6,000 to make sure the choir could travel to Washington, D.C.
Empire State sophomore Mattie Hines said, "This is may be a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I get to experience it with them, and I wouldn't trade it for the world."
The group will travel back to Alabama Monday.
