BURELY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Law enforcement arrested a Burley man Wednesday in connection to the 1995 disappearance and death of a Burley girl.

The Cassia County Sheriff’s Office issued a news release, said Gilberto Flores Rodriguez, 56, of Burley, was arrested on first degree murder charges. He’s accused of killing 14-year-old Regina Lee Krieger in 1995.

The FBI, the sheriff’s office and Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office investigated.

Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident in Minidoka County and was taken to the Mini-Cassia Justice Center where he is being held without bond.

Family members contacted KMVT to inform them of the news they receive earlier Wednesday.

Regina went missing on Feb. 28, 1995. That April, her body washed onto the shore of the Snake River east of Rupert. Law enforcement found stab wounds on her body. When the body turned up and was identified as Regina, it became a murder investigation.

The sheriff's offices said it will be making no more public comments on the case.
