UPDATE: Blaine County School Board chooses to extend school closure until April 20, begin distance learning April 6
The Blaine County School Board of Trustees voted to extend the closure of schools until April 20 and to implement distance learning on April 6, according to an announcement on the
District learning will begin with teachers making contact with students in order to re-establsih student teacher relationship. The district ask parents be prepared to answer a phone call from a number they don't recognize as it could be a teacher. Parents are also being asked to update their contact information in

The first phase of transitioning to distance learning will focus on high school students as they already have district-issued Chromebooks and have the highest requirements for receiving instructional minutes and need to work on their credits. The district says during the first phase they plan to begin distributing Chromebooks to middle and elementary schools to prepare for distance learning.
The district also announced that Preschool and Kindergarten Registration has been postponed with the plan to reschedule prior to the start of the next school year, at a time to be released.
At the April 14 regular Board Meeting, Trustees will asses the current situation and determine if distance learning will continue after April 20.

The meeting comes on the heels of a recent order from the State Board of Education that schools soft close until April, 20. According to the Blaine County School District
